Howard Gardner India Tour 2012

iDiscoveri XSEED hosted Prof. Howard Gardner in India in January-February 2012.

The legendary professor of cognitive psychology at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, considered among the most influential public intellectuals and thinkers in the world toured India for 3 weeks in January-February 2012.

Most well-known as the father of the theory of “Multiple Intelligences”, he addressed over 3500 educators, business leaders, teachers and students on a range of topics including child centered education, creativity, good work, different kinds of minds for the future and education in an era of globalization.

Accompanied by his wife and collaborator, Prof. Ellen Winner, herself an expert on gifted children, Prof. Gardner also engaged in discussions and meetings with key academicians and policymakers. He also visited several schools, NGOs and public institutions.

The tour was very well-timed and came at a time when the education system in the country is gearing up to get revolutionized. It has already managed to generate serious dialogue between the Indian public, the media and policymakers.
